M-Sport's Richard Millener confirms return of Adrien Fourmaux for WRC Portugal

Cumbria, England, April 27th, 2021:  Following an impressive debut on the asphalt roads of last weekend’s

Croatia Rally, we can now confirm that Adrien Fourmaux will be back behind the wheel of the EcoBoost-powered Ford Fiesta WRC at Rally de Portugal, he and co-driver Renaud Jamoul sampling the power and performance of the top-specification Fiesta on gravel.

Teemu Suninen and Mikko Markkula will compete with the Ford Fiesta Rally2 in Portugal, before returning to the wheel of the Fiesta WRC at Rally Italia Sardegna an event which has played host to some fantastic performances from our Flying Finn over the years.

Team Principal, Richard Millener, said:

“We were extremely pleased with Adrien’s performance on the Croatian asphalt, and I think he surpassed even his own expectations! Four years ago he hadn’t even driven a rally car, and now he’s challenging (and at times, out-performing) the guys he grew up watching and idolising on the stages!

“He has a natural talent and ability that we’re keen to develop, and I’m pleased to confirm that he will return to the wheel of the Ford Fiesta WRC in just a few weeks’ time at Rally de Portugal. Discovering the power and performance of the top-specification Fiesta on gravel, this will be a completely different challenge and he’s under no pressure – but we’re all looking forward to seeing how he performs.

“Teemu will be in WRC 2 action again in Portugal, before returning to the wheel of the Fiesta WRC at Rally Italia Sardegna – an event he has always excelled on. He secured a career-best second place there in 2019, and who can forget that opening stage last year when he was a full 12 seconds quicker than anyone else!”
