Minneapolis, MN (Oct. 17, 2012) - Best Buy Mobile is excited to announce that it has signed Timur Timerzyanov, the reigning FIA European RallyCross Champion to drive the Best Buy Mobile Ford Fiesta MK7 in the final round of the Global RallyCross Championship at SEMA in Las Vegas on October 30th
“When Marcus Grönholm confirmed that he wasn’t available for SEMA, we wanted the best rallycross driver in the world” said Mark Williams who manages Best Buy Mobile’s rallycross program “and we very quickly landed on Timur who dominated the 2012 European RallyCross Championship”
Timerzyanov who comes from Tatarstan, part of the Russian Federation will be making his debut in both a Ford and the United States. However, he will renew his battle with American Tanner Foust, a battle that has raged across Europe for the past two seasons. After winning the Championship (with Foust in third), Timerzyanov comes to Foust’s home turf determined to close out the rallycross season with a winning performance.
“I am excited by this opportunity to race in America and to try the Ford Fiesta Mk7 that Tanner has used against me all year,” said 25-year old Timerzyanov. “GRC runs very different courses to those I am used to but I know the Best Buy Mobile Ford Fiesta is a really good car so I expect to be at the front of the field.”
