Montréal
(Québec), October 2, 2013.- Quebec driver Antoine L’Estage (of
St-Jean-sur-Richelieu), current leader of the North American Rally Cup, will
contest this weekend’s Pacific Forest Rally in British Columbia. The
Rockstar Energy Drink driver has already amassed five victories at this event,
which counts towards the Canadian Rally Championship and the North American
Rally Cup.
Following the
end of Nathalie Richard’s partnership with the team, Antoine L’Estage will be
co-driven by Craig Parry for the Pacific Forest Rally.
Later this fall, a
decision will be made regarding the team’s co-driver for the remainder of the
2013 season and the 2014 season. Nathalie has been the team’s
co-driver since 2006, accumulating many victories along the way. The
entire team would like to thank her for her hard work during these years and
wish her the best of luck in her future motorsport endeavours.
The fourth of
six rounds in the 2013 Canadian Rally Championship, the Pacific Forest Rally
will start at 5:30pm this Friday in Merritt, British Columbia, and will end on
Saturday around 8pm. "With five victories, PFR is one of the rallies
where I have had the most success in my career. This year, the course
will be similar to previous years, with some new additions. I’m really
looking forward to the start of this rally to try to earn a third consecutive
victory this season in the Canadian Rally Championship" indicated Antoine
L'Estage, who previously won the Baie-des-Chaleurs and Défi rallies. "The win last month at the Rallye Défi put us back in the hunt for the
championship. Winning the Pacific Forest Rally is clearly our goal for
this weekend" adds the Quebec driver, who will once again be at the wheel of
his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X. "We haven’t done any testing with the car since
Défi but everything is in order. In addition, we’ll get the chance to do
a little session on Friday morning before the start, as part of the
demonstration rides for special Yokohama guests. It’s always great to be
able to provide our sponsors with such an opportunity and at the same time, it
gives us a chance to make sure everything is perfect with the car before the
rally" explains Antoine.
