Nick Roberts Global Rally Team’s campaign with the Alzheimer’s Association to ‪#‎ENDALZ‬;

White Bear Lake, Minnesota, I am very pleased to announce that the Nick Roberts Global Rally Team’s campaign with the Alzheimer’s Association to ‪#‎ENDALZ‬; with the #RallyToEndAlz fundraiser. I hope to raise over $25,000 before the end of the year for the Alzheimer’s Association. I know this is a huge goal, but this cause is very important to me. I want to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s and dementia related illnesses that have become a serious epidemic.

As many of you already know, this illness hit to home for me when my father was diagnosed with a form of dementia over two years ago at the age of 56. I will always remember those initial days of joining him at Doctor appointments. My sister and I knew something was wrong but he was unable to make the decisions needed to get the care he needed. Then, almost six months after our initial involvement, when we got the diagnosis and my Dad’s unwillingness to accept it. That year was by far the most challenging in my life. At the age of 24 my sister and I found ourselves battling to protect our father while simultaneously becoming fully responsible for managing every aspect of his life.

Most of us think that Alzheimer’s only hits old people. One of my goals is to help younger people, like me and my sister, understand that when the disease hits our parents and grandparents it affects our lives in ways we never imagined.

The Alzheimer’s Association is a great resource for families that find themselves at every stage of this horrible illness. I know that someday we will find a way to prevent and cure this illness, if we rally together and do what we can to help raise awareness and money for research.

Here are some NOT so fun facts about Alzheimer's:

**5.4 million - As many as 5.4 million people in the United States are living with Alzheimer's. That means we all know someone who is dealing with this.

**70 seconds - Every 70 seconds, someone develops Alzheimer's.

**100% - Alzheimer's disease is always fatal. I didn't know that before.

**100% - ALL the proceeds we raise are going to the Alzheimer’s Association and the Alzheimer’s Association is not providing The Nick Roberts Global Rally Team with any consideration.

We have to find the cure! It might be to late for my dad but its not to late for someone else and it is a battle that we can still win. CHECK OUT WWW.ALZ.ORG it has good information about the disease and the progress that is being made to find a cure. Also, you can find out how to volunteer, how to get involved and specifics about events going on in your area.

I want to make myself available to others if they find them self in a similar situation. Seek me out at rallies and I will make myself available if you want to know how you can get involved or if you just need some advice.
